Here you will find information about Schibsted Match

Schibsted Match is a form of targeted advertising where you as an advertiser can deliver customized messages directly to your customers on our websites. This is done in the following way:

  • As an advertiser, you upload your customer list in Admarket. The customer list is then sent directly to data processing via an API, which means that no one handles the list physically and that it is transferred and processed in a secure and GDPR-friendly manner.

  • The customer lists are sent to Schibsted’s DMP, where the customer list is matched with our logged-in users before it is deleted.

  • As an advertiser, you receive back a segment ID that can be used for targeted advertising within Schibsted’s ecosystem.

Privacy

At Schibsted, we are committed to protecting our users’ privacy. Therefore, we place requirements on both you as an advertiser and ourselves at Schibsted when Schibsted Match is used.
We have developed a special agreement regulating the relationship between you as an advertiser and Schibsted in a Joint Controllership Agreement (JCA), which must be signed by you to ensure that the privacy of your customers and our users is preserved.

In addition, you as an advertiser must document and guarantee the legal basis you rely on for how you collect and process data about your customers. We accept consent and legitimate interest.
Schibsted’s technical setup ensures that no one handles the customer list physically, and that the list is therefore transferred and processed securely, safely, and in a GDPR-friendly manner.

Schibsted Match is based on logged-in users on Schibsted Account, our own login and identity solution (not cookies). Users have themselves visited the platform, logged in, and accepted Schibsted’s terms of use. This also means that our users can opt out of targeted advertising on our platforms if they wish.

Additional encryption

When uploading a custom segment, there is an option called “Automatically encrypt email for better security.”
This encryption method ensures that data remains protected and prevents unauthorized access. In this way, encryption adds an extra layer of security to the matching process — the uploaded customer list will still be deleted by Schibsted afterward.

In cases where specific errors occur during the matching process, it may be necessary to upload the same customer list again (unencrypted) to enable troubleshooting.
